Support Workers

Self Care: Help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist with mobility and transfers, including using hoists and other equipment.

Health and Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed. Monitor health conditions and report any concerns to healthcare professionals. Assist with medical appointments and follow-up care.

Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation. Help with shopping and errands.

Transport and Mobility Support: Assist with transportation to and from appointments, social activities, and community events. Support participants in using public transport safely

Social and Community Participation: Encourage and facilitate participation in social activities and community engagement. Support the development of social skills and friendships.

Therapeutic Supports: Assist participants in following therapeutic routines and exercises as prescribed by allied health professionals. Support the use of assistive technology and devices.

Skill Development: Help participants develop independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting, and personal hygiene. Support educational and vocational training efforts.

Emotional and Psychological Support: Provide companionship and emotional support. Encourage positive behaviour and coping strategies.

Planning and Coordination: Work with participants to develop and implement personalized care plans. Coordinate with other support workers, family members, and healthcare providers.

Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of participants. Support participants in understanding their rights and accessing services.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including progress notes and incident reports. Report any concerns or changes in the participant’s condition to supervisors or relevant authorities.

Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with best practices and NDIS guidelines. Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and NDIS standards.
